The wife and I took a trip to Quarryville, PA to see a much better LHS. Some of the other members at my club kept telling me about the place so I just had to check it out. The local Hobby Works is more like a toy store. They didn't have what I was looking for most of the time.
While I was there looking through the little items I needed I saw the Tango 40 sittin' on the wall.
I managed to talk the wife into letting me get it.
This thing is gonna be a fast assembly! Wing is already put together and the tail is bolt on. It comes with real wheels not the little foam jobs.
I'll get a flight report ASAP! I have to rob one of my planes to get it in the air but I don't really care at this point!!!
What happened as a result of the Stamp Act?
The Americans licked the British!
Why did Paul Revere ride his horse from Boston to Lexington?
Because the horse was too heavy to carry!
Why did the British cross the Atlantic?
To get to the other tide!
What do you call a parade of German mercenaries?
A Hessian procession!
What would you get if you crossed a patriot with a small curly-haired dog?
Yankee Poodle!
Did you hear the one about the Liberty Bell?
Yeah, it cracked me up!
What would you get if you crossed George Washington with cattle feed?
The Fodder of Our Country!
What's red, white, blue, and almost as ugly as a dog?
A revolutionary warthog!
Ok you guys know me. here is the latest adventure..
Any way I wanted to do a smokehouse build for me some sausage..
I have looked at the stainless ones that will cook 50 lbs and they are outrageously priced so here is what i have come up with.
for 181.04 I purchesed 5/8 plywood, 3/4 inch dow foam, 5/8 dura-rock, some 2x4's and screws..
The smokehouse will be 6'6" x3'x3'. I bought the Packtronics thermocouple and the relay to shut it off at 165 degree's for 169.99 from Allied Kenco..
total of 360.00 for the build..
well then i needed a hot plate for heat and 1 for the smoke.. i will be runing duel plates and the thermocouple will just shut down the heating plate.
i found a labratory equiptment thermodine 1900 stainless on ebay for 40.00 . so for around 400.00 i have enough smoker to do at least 50 mabey even more..
the left side is built .
The first piece of Dura-Rock is installed.. For those of you that don't know what dura rock is its a cement wallboard made to go behind tile to keep moisture probs from occuring..
they do lighten it up a bit with some little foam balls in the mix so each piece doesn't weigh 100 lbs..
its still perty heavy tho.. when i coat it with grout and then season the smokehouse it will have a thin layer of tar to help seal it all in...
here ya go.
you guys know me.. I have a lot of stuff going on.. lol
Im wondering if you may be able to help me with a bit of an odd request, Im trying to locate particular 1960s model aeroplane wheels
I apollogise if this is not in the right forum area, and also this is my first post and dont like just jumping in asking questions but I am really stuck with this.
although I do have an interest in RC cars and planes, my main interests have been building finescale model railways and also building studio scale replicas of some of the model vehicles from the 1960s tv show Thunderbirds, where I try and use the exact same bits and pieces they used, which is why I need you guys expertise, this is what Im planning on building, a weird and wacky Fire engine, Ive managed to locate the plastic kit pieces they used on it, but I havent been able to track down the wheels.
I have been told they may be Kavan wheels? although Im not sure they where around at the time (1964)? Im guessing they will be ripmax as they did use a lot of Ripmax products in the show, they are approx 2 inches diameter and the tyres are smooth with no grooves, If anyone knows where I could get hold of them please get in touch
I just completed the break-in, 4 tanks so far, of the OS 46AX on my 4*. I started with an APC 11x6 prop and am turning 13,050 approx. 300-400 RPM rich of peak, with 10%. Is this RPM a little high? Should I consider an 11x7 or 12x6 prop?
First the bad news. Tower has increased it's engine prices . Good news! Sig didn't. you can still get an Aviastar .46 for $50.00 and it is a bargain and double that price.
