The late Bobby Younkin at the helm of the Steve Wolf built replica Pitts Samson. Steve flew the airshow circuit with it for many years before selling it to Bobby. The noise and smoke that this airplane generated was truly awesome. As the original drawings for this famous aircraft were destroyed in a hangar fire, Steve relied on a few remaining photographs and worked closely with Curtis Pitts and his memory of the plane to build this brute. About the size an S2 Pitts, Power is a 450 HP 9 cylinder R985 Pratt and Whitney - known widely as the "450 Pratt". The original was built by Curtis in the early 1950's. This is the grandaddy of all muscle bipes.
