Does the buddy box use the power from the training cord? Just curious why the buddy box has a battery compartment but doesn't come with any batteries....

When using a buddy box all the controls including the power comes from the host radio. This is why you don't need an antenna or battery in the buddy box radio.

Nope you didn't. Did you also know you don't have to use a dead radio as a buddy box. You can use any radio as long as they are compatible with each other. Just remember you don't have to turn the power on or extend the antenna...

Depends on the make of the equipment. If you are using JR I believe you have to have batteries in the trainer box.
