I lucked out and got a great deal on a plane package, the reason i got it was because of its price i just dont have lots of money to throw around (someday maybe). Must i buy an electric starter for my plane it would be on a .25 thundertiger pro ABC engine if i could save 50 bucks on not buying the starter the battery etc... it would be great. I saw this "chicken stick" that you just twist with your hands would that work? and what about glow plugs do they fail often should i buy them in bulk (i wont be flying all the time) and finelly is it worth it to buy a glow plug heater thing with rechargable nicads or just with the cheaper C or D batterys is ok.

Hey! Welcome to RCFlying website. You will soon realize what a great website this place really is, if you haven't noticed already!
Forget about the electric starter! Get yourself a wooden dowl at the hobby store that you can't break with your hand...That will be perfect. Get a Master Airscrew 9x5 prop to go with it.
Get one new glow plug, if the engine already has one. Two if it doesn't! If the engine is new, you might go through 1 or two. After that they could last for 30 years or more.
Get a $15 rechargable nicad and you will be soo happy you did!
You will need some fuel (10% Nitro, at least 18% oil with a castor synthetic blend) and a fuel pump. Get some extra fuel tubing too. You will also need some basic screws like allen wrenches and screwdrivers. A glow plug wrench (prop wrench) is important too. As you progress in the hobby you will get more and more stuff you don't need until you've gotten to a point where...you just have to keep getting more! Really though, it's when you are first starting out in this hobby and after about a year that you really start spending all the money! Ask me how much I have right now!
Be sure and get yourself an instructor to teach you how to fly that great new plane!
Good luck and have fun!
