Here is a preview of what I am working on right now. It is a TBM Shok Jet. It is a very simple turbine trainer. I have flown scale EDF planes along with EDF sport planes, but I figured something simple would be a nice way to cross over to turbines and get my waiver. I'll post some more pictures later.

I'll look forward to seeing how it goes. It looks real mean just sitting on the bench. Keep the pictures coming.

I put the wings on the fuse for a photo op.
The airframe is pretty much complete with the last step being to epoxy the wing halves together. All servos are in place and control surfaces ready, along with the mechnical brake. The next step is to finish the electronics. I am going to use an E-Flite power regulator with a two battery set-up. I hope to have this done this weekend. Then installation of the UAT and fuel tank and we have an airplane ready for the turbine. The turbine is going to be a Jet Central Super Bee. It is a nice turbine and produces 14 pounds of thrust. The only reason I could not see myself getting the Super Bee is if I find a good deal on a turbine of that size online somewhere.

I am still working on the Shok Jet. Just trying to get everything perfect. Unfortuately I am not going to be able to work on it this weekend. One of my EDF planes has jumped in line. It has over a hundred flights on it and due for another mainenance. EDF has come a long way.
I'll provide some details on the work I do to the Shok Jet next weekend. This will include reinforcement of the wing saddle area of the fuse and some other reinforcements.

It looks faster than my eyeballs can function. Keep the pictures coming.
This is my chance to learn a bit about turbines. There are none in the club I fly with.
It's got to be awesome flying something that fast!!
