I have not flown in 12 years. I just bought one of these.I looked at it at the toledo show and said yes that will be mine.I plan to put a Zenoah G23 in it. Should I buy a 40 trainer prior to taking this plane out I do plan to fly with a instructor w/buddy box.

Please post any and all info thanks in advance

Jester34,
You have purchase a nice plane and your planes for it are great. I did just the same thing, I was out of the hobby four about 12 years before I got back into it a few years ago. I started out again with a Sig LT-40 and worked my way back into flying. I think you should give a little though to trying this same entrance back into the hobby. Also look up a local club in your, they can be of big help.
Good Luck & Welcome Back,
Charlie

You could learn on it, but since trainers aren't always that good looking after you solo, I'd let your instructor fly it for you untill you solo on a regular trainer. This plane is a Cub type, the Cub is the trainer version, and the Citaborea( I know this is a funny spelling but I've always heard that it is aerobatic spelled backwards) is the aerobatic version. The Decathalon and Talorcraft are all very simmilar and fly almost the same with the exception that the Cub LOVES to groundloop. The biggest factor is that it is a tail dragger. This will make takeoffs and landings more difficult and will probably cost you some expensive props and a new cowl or two. A trainer is a nosegear config so your nosewheel will keep it from nosing over. A trainer is also designed for hand landings so it has durable and springy landing gear. Just let your instructor fly your Talorcraft for you, and then once you solo you should be ready to fly it.
