Well i'm relatively new to the RC world. well just getting into it. my air cadet squadron is the owner or two piper cub RC planes and a glider, which can piggy back on one of the cubs. anyways, the planes havent been run for quite a few years, six at least, is there anything we should do, we know there is alot of work that has to be put into them, but any hints on what should be done first would be greatly appreciated.

Hint no.1: If you have a transmitter and receiver, you should check that is not one of the wide band types. These are illegal because they can interfere with other flyers airplanes. If it is a narrow band type, then don't even think of using these until you have replaced both the transmitter and receiver battery packs. If you can, find a RC flying club that is close by. Club members are really good about helping out new flyers. Don't try to fly the plane yourself or it will be a short and dangerous flight! Since you have a computer why not download a free flight sim called FMS and try it to see what I mean!

Yeah there's an RC club nearby somewhere, live in the smallest province of canada so it's hard to find but i'm planning on getting some training before attempting, it's gonna be months before we even try to run the things lol. they need a bit of repair.

I think there is a hobby shop called Great Hobbies near you. They usaed to be called East Coast Model Centre. They should be able to tell you where the nearest club is. I think they run a club themselves so would be a good source to start looking. I love balsa planes because even badly damaged planes can be repaired in a couple of hours with minimal expense and a bit of the proper type of glue. My sons LT25 got snapped in 2 and the wings ripped off when I was landing very slow and a huge wind whipped up. I easily had the plane repaired and ready to fly before the next weekend. I helped a buddy repair a broken plane that he bought from a retired guy. We removed all the covering from the broken wing, repaired it, and recovered it in under 2 hours. The rest of the plane took about another hour to get in shape. It still left us time to have a beer before it got too late!:D
