I am new to rc flying. I currently am flying a Thunder Tiger 40 trainer. I was being taught by an instructor but moved and now am on my own. I am able to fly and land, not the greatest landings but in time I should get better. My question is, When purchasing a new plane can i just order a plane with the same frequency or do i need to buy all new equiptment? I am flying on channel 15 now.

I think what you are asking is, can you put the same radio that you used in your trainer? the answer to that is, yes. I have used the same radio in several different planes. As long as you use the channels with in the "air" frequncy range you are ok. So, basically what I'm saying is you don't have to get new equipment everytime you buy a new plane. Only if you want to fly both planes will need the stuff for both but if you are going to put your trainer away then just take the radio gear and engine out of the trainer and put them in the new plane.

Tobiass,
When you are ready for your next plane, the cheapest way to setup is to get a "Flight Pack" or just the RX, crystal, servos, and battery for your next plane. You can find that these run from $80 up ($80 being the most basic setup with standard servos), which is considerably cheaper than getting an entirely new radio setup. Check out ServoCity (http://www.servocity.com), they've got a full selection of Hitec and Futaba Flight Packs for just about every FM/PPM radio imaginable. I have 3 of them and have had excellent results!

If you check the pushrods to see that they are moving in the same direction as your first plane then you don't even need to worry about servo reversing between planes. I have 5 planes set up this way. You just need to have a receiver and battery pack for each plane. :D

For your seconfd Plane, get the same frecuency and a Flight box, sfter that you might want to get a better radio for your 3rd and 4th
