Wombat 02-15-2008, 02:39 PM 1. Love the look of that F-19, even if it never flew it would look good on the shelf.
2. A Warthog may be nice but lacks that certain charm that the F-19 oozes.
3. You don't often see an F-18 style plane with the wings facing the wrong way so the SU-47 gets a big vote.
4. And you know Hank, while I was waiting for that 4th link to load I was wondering why you had not located a Raptor. And behold!
They are all good choices (except maybe the A-10), but I would put all my votes on the F-22, despite liking the SU-47 forward pointing wings. The videos I have seen of the F-22 are amazing. And that's the plane I'd want if I could only have one.
Lie to your wife Hank. Tell you are secretly a set of Twins and have a double birthday, and you therefore want the Su-27 and F22.
MerlinL14 02-15-2008, 02:42 PM SU-47 it is just so different :D
Wombat 02-15-2008, 02:47 PM Whoa, I just saw the price on the F-19.
I wonder if they do a non-radio version for those of us on different frequencies. I could just see myself being the first person to crash an F-22 at my field.
Still got about 3 weeks to go Hank. (I've got about 6 weeks to wait - but then poor Merlin and Fearless Fly have around 52 weeks to wait).
kenchiroalpha 02-15-2008, 02:56 PM Hi:prop: Guys
I think you misunderstood:sign0007:
I can either get just the F-19 or all three of the others, they are roughly the same price
So do i get three planes or just the one?
Take care my friends:10635:

Wombat 02-15-2008, 02:59 PM Simple choice then Hank, be greedy, "Three birds in the hand is worth one in the bush"
This way you get the Su-47 and the F-22. That sounds like a winning combination. And I'd even be happy to have an A-10 as well.
So I vote: Option 2.
(Though I am drawn to that F-19)

Wombat 02-15-2008, 03:14 PM Hank, I've not had the time now to look around BananaHobby, but I have popped it into my Favourites for tonight. I am just tidying up the desk at present (0645), and about to log off the network and go home. It's been a busy Friday night here and I am ready for bed.
But, I still find my mind in a state of dichotomy over this one. I'd love that F-19 but the Su-47 and F-22 equally grab me. I didn't look at specifications though to see what is the biggest (and most impressive).

Kilgore Trout 02-15-2008, 09:45 PM The F-19 looks like a hodge podge of parts from other planes (a little F-18 here, a little F-15 there). I had the "F-19" model from Testors as a kid, I and don't recall it looking anything like it. It does look cooler and better made than the other 3, but then again for that price you could buy all of the others.
The A-10 looks silly to me...not as nice as the others...
The Su-47 would be my choice, based solely on looks. However, I wonder how it flies given what looks like a reverse dihedral and forward swept wings.
The F-22 is nice. May be easier to fly.
Then again, you are a good pilot. I would choose the Su-47...
G'Day Hank
Its got to be the package deal
3 V 1 the three has to win every time
and you get that awesome looking Su-47 with the forward swept wings
and equally great looking F-22 Raptor
and that strange looking A-10 tankbuster
kenchiroalpha 02-15-2008, 10:28 PM Hi :prop: Guys
Fred, Ian,
how have you been my friends?
I hope things are going very well for you and your's
Ian,
That looks like the plan so far, though the F-19 keeps calling me
Fred,
In answer to your question the rc "Bekrut" looks to be a very capable flyer
Heres some video i found of her

And heres the "Raptor"

Kilgore Trout 02-15-2008, 11:51 PM I misread your post. I didn't realize it WAS a 3 for 1 deal.
Oh, Monty! Take door #2....3 for 1 is sweet!
Haunebu2 02-16-2008, 12:03 AM Tough call there Hank but after looking closely, I like the F-19. My reason is that although the others say they have rudder control, if you look at the pics, the F-19 is the only one that actually seems to have one. I think the others are only using the fourth channel as a nose wheel steering and calling that rudder.
Or is it just late and I'm missing something?
Either way, you're coming out good.:D
Take care my friend and keep us informed,
Dave
RatKing 02-16-2008, 09:24 AM That raptor flies fast and rolls crazy fast.
Definitely gotta do the 3 fer! thats my $.02

Wombat 02-24-2008, 08:57 AM Hi HANK, this turned up at my field today, but as a small prblem developed with the ESC it was not flown. Luke tells me he'll have it ready for next Sunday, so I may be able to get some pictures and a flight report.
I forgot to get the details but it looks an awful lot like the one in the Banana Hobby site.
The other jet with a pusher prop is a home made Depron Mig29. I'm told the plans were found for free on the internet. It flies beautifully.
Wombat 03-03-2008, 11:15 AM Well, I turned up at the field on Sunday, and sure enough, the SU-47 was there and ready to go.
From a rolling take-off of the grass it pulled away well. The twin EDF's were more than adequate to lift it effortlessly. The EDF is an odd noise when you are used to electric props and glow models. In the air it looked wonderful. My only critisism is that I'd have liked to see those wheels disapear, but I think mini retracts for a model of this size are not too common. Perhaps a hand launched version.
Hank, how are you going with your desicison? Picked an option yet?
RatKing 03-03-2008, 12:44 PM Great pictures Wombat. That plane looks awesome in the air.
I have to agree with you on the sound of the EDFs. The A-10 I built was really annoying to listen too....it really howled when you opened it up.
Let us know what you came up with Hank.

rcshirt 03-06-2008, 04:40 PM The *f-19 is a F-18 SUPER HORNET and its cost is high because of its size. all most 2X the others. the a-10 is the smallest.
the best flyer will be the f-22 high speed slow landing.
the a-10 is a good slow flyer like the full size but no speed.
the sukio is similar to an f-15 actually built to fight it.

rcshirt 03-14-2008, 08:29 PM GO through raidentech or Nitro planes. Banana hobbies is getting a lot if flack on other sites. and nitro planes say they are not affilated
