Check this plane out.
Russian SU-30- Vectored Thrust with Canards

As you watch this airplane, look at the canards moving along side of, and just below the canopy rail.
This is a video of an in-flight demonstration flown by the RussianSU-30MK fighter aircraft. You'll not believe what you are about to see.
The fighter can stall from high speed, stopping in less than a second. Then it demonstrates an ability to descend tail first without causing a compressor stall. It can also recover from a flat spin in less than a minute.

Man if I can ever afford real model jet engines, I'm going to figure out how to model this.

Scratch :

That is awsome, Did you notice when it is just stalling and flipping over ?
I bet that was a very wierd feeling because the cockit was way out front of the axes where it is turning and the cockpit is just getting thrown around.

COOL !!

Great video Scratch! Glad to hear you post on RCH
again. It might be fun to be the pilot. For about ten seconds.
Then you would need one of those bags provided by airlines.

Yep...pretty cool. It is surprising he can slide backward like that without killing the engines. And the way the canards move on landing...I think it must be a computer doing that to help keep the plane stable. Not sure of this, but I think this type of plane is designed for maneuverability, not stability and without the computer, the pilot would not be able to keep it under control. Anyone know for sure? All the same, still pretty neat...:D :D

Yep... the Su 30 canards are computer controlled. Imagine trying to control those, throttle, ailerons, rudder, elevator all at once!!!!!!! There is a write up on it on Wikipedia.
