They had the F9F in the latest issue of the AMA monthly.
I think I found a use for the two EDF-50's from my failed GWS BN-2 ducted fan disaster! :D
The F9F takes an EDF-40, but the Sabre and MiG-15 take the EDF-50. I usually prefer "enemy" aircraft...its the inner Dr. Evil, Communist Nazi Kraut Fascist bastard...actually, its because their designs are typically less common and more unusual. However, in this case, the Sabre's color scheme just looks better than the MiG's, so if I do decide to get one of these, I would probably go with the Sabre...
kenchiroalpha 10-02-2006, 12:24 AM hi :) very nice looking planes thanks for the link.:D :D clear skies and good flying.
Kilgore Trout 10-02-2006, 04:39 PM I actually really like the F9F better....I wonder how difficult that paint scheme is (or is is molded in those colors...I'll have to check the website)
I know the MiG and Sabre are molded in white. Silver spray paint and thats an easy paint job there...
kenchiroalpha 10-02-2006, 05:12 PM hi :) fred i like the skyray always have. i downloaded the manuals and the f9f comes white. the build is pretty straight forward too. this sure is a very nice site :D i just might order one. thanks again. :D clear skies and good flying.
Kilgore Trout 10-02-2006, 10:20 PM BTW, you do know that Hobby Lobby has a profile version of your Japanese pusher prop I forget the name of it plane...

My BN-2 is the propped version. Still in its box, matter of fact, it's been there for three years!
Kilgore Trout 10-03-2006, 08:27 PM GWS put out a ducted fan version of the BN-2. It was regarded as underpowered and was not overly popular, which is why I got it on sale. However, it definately IS underpowered and was lousy. The propped version is very well powered, and I have seen some say its the fastest GWS plane.
Here's one on ebay:

Qban Flyer 10-03-2006, 08:57 PM So is their Warthog.:o
It is a great flying machine with brushless motors in place of their stock ones.:)
Kilgore Trout 10-16-2006, 08:39 PM The fan-tastic Sabre is driving me nuts. Remind me NEVER BUY A PLANE WITH A PULL PULL SYSTEM EVER AGAIN!!! Im on my third try...seems to be working....so far.
Not the easiest plane I have ever put together. The pushrod they sent is too short for the new, revised, instructions they have (looks like they have revised the instructions a few times). I made my own pushrod out of some leftover wire. The servos mount to a foam panel inside the plane, wheras they previously went into some servo trays. I think the trays might have been better, as the foam panel is too flimsy and often would flex when I moved the servo/control surface. I had to make two small foam "crossbars" to keep the servos from shifting around when activated. Maybe a case of the original instructions being superior to the revised...
Overall, a frustrating build so far....especially after the Parkzone FW-190...that was a nice, easy build!!! :p
Actually, the Cox Wings P-40 was a much easier build than this one.
Qban Flyer 10-16-2006, 11:47 PM FRED!
Don't buy another plane with a Pull Pull system again, you hear?:D
I use pull pull systems in my 50" wingspan stick and tissue indoor RC flyers. It is nightmarish to adjust the lines for equal tension while pull-pulling! Though when they are set up they remain that way unless I mess with them.:o
In your case it was probably done to save weight, so there is not much choice but to grin and bear it.:D
Keep us posted.
Kilgore Trout 10-17-2006, 06:08 PM This is actually the third bird of mine with such a system. I just don't like them, as you are correct, getting the proper tension is difficult, especially in this case, where the servos are not mounted in a "solid" place.
I did the best I could with it. Right now its in the pain shop getting its coat of silver paint and smellin' up the basement (mmmm...paint fumes...actually, I don't understand how anyone can get "high" on this crap...gives me a first class headache!)

Me neither. I have no clue as to what is it about it, but do it they do.:o
I have my share of weekly headaches from the side effects of my diabetes medication. If there's are things that bug me, they are earaches (seldom have had them), headaches and toothaches.:censored:
I can cope with everything else poor health throws at me but those three.:o
Pull Pull systems are very elegant and effective, but with smaller and lighter models it is a pain in the neck to work with!
