One of my LHS had the GWS BN-2 w/ducted fans on sale (around $35.00). I couldn't resist, so I bought it.

I have heard mixed reviews on the plane. I head the prop version is one of the fastest of GWS planes. Also hear its a Beeeaaach to land.

Im trying to find a commuter airline color scheme that I like to paint it in. I may go the lazy route and leave it white with red/white/blue stripes, a la American Eagle. I don't much care for the blue and green stripes that it comes with.

Anyone have any experience with the GWS BN-2?

Maiden flight today. Very disappointing. First, thrust was severely lacking, second, the ailerons did not work well at all. Im not very good yet at coordinating rudder w/aileron, which I think the plane needs in order to turn reasonably well. Both times we tried to fly it, it crashed. The second time, I could not get the plane to turn at all.

I think that the plane is a better prop plane than a ducted fan plane.
