I;m very new to the hobby and I'm getting my dream plane together for inspiration. So when I wreck the trainer I can look at it and gain inspiration. As I said in previous post my dream plane is a Corsair. When I see them in life they have a blade prop and when I see them on the box it has a 3 blade. but in the instructions and the ones that I have seen built all I see is the two blades. Is there a down side of going with a 3 blade? othere then looks is there a benifit? if so where can I get them and a center peace to fit them ?

3 blade props are used for 2 reasons. They look cool and you can get more ground clearance by having a 1 " smaller prop and still get almost the same power. The down side is that the 3 blade props aren't as efficient as 2 blade props on our glow engines. The reason is that the fast rpm from the first blade doesn't leave much air for the blade coming in behind it to grab. Thats why the 3 blade props work better on slow running gas engines. Hope thi helps explain things a bit.

As a general rule drop down 1 in size and pitch for a 3 blade. example 11-6 2 blade = 10-5 3 blade.
Your mileage may vary

thanks for the info. I will stick to the two blades for now.
